Found in the Philippines and Sabah Borneo in lowland mixed forests
on mangroves and in dry forest slopes as a miniature sized,
warm to hot growing epiphyte at elevations of sealevel to 500 meters
with 4 sided, ascending, oblong-ovoid, glossy pseudobulbs
carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, oblong-elliptic,
apically rounded, gradually narrowing below into the rigid,
channeled petiolate base leaf and blooms on a basal, thin, wiry, red,
6" [15 cm] long, several [10 to 12] flowered,
umbellate inflorescence with a few, erect bracts and
linear-lanceolate, acute floral bracts all carrying
fetid smelling flowers occuring in the summer.
